Admire the colours of automn at the Château du Lude

Walk in the garden

Automn is the ideal season to have a family walk in the park of Le Lude. In the spring graden and the botanical walk, the trees blaze with their autumnal colours: japanese spindle, maples and purple beeches. The last bloomings are discreetly showing, while the wild animals prepare to hibernate.

The children have fun in the park, especially in the mazes, the moat and the underground tunnels that bring them back in the middle ages, when princesses and knights lived in the castle. They also discover the farm animals: Soay sheeps and the bantam hens.

At th stables, all the family gets in the coach of the Duc de Daillon to take a picture.

Visit the castle on 5 floors!

This year, two new rooms add to the viist: the chapel and the staff’s room. the complete the opening of the floors started in 2020 with the hunting room, the guests’ appartment and then the linen room in 2021. Those new spaces show the everyday life of a great house durint the 19th Century.

The visit continues in the reception rooms: library, drawing rooms, great gallery. During the visit, the children can wear princesses and knights suits.

AUTUMN FLAVOURS – Sunday 30th October

After a walk in the park, come and warm you up in the medieval kitchen, arround the wooden stove.  An autumn snack waits for the all family: wood-fired creps with the delicious jams of the castle, hot cocoa, coffee, tea and other seasonal cakes.

In the maze, the children go to the pumpkin hunt! Once found in the bushes, they are swaped for candies.

During this day, the kitchen garden is exceptionally open!

 INFORMATIONS:

The pumpkin hunt is inclued in the ticket “garden”. It take splace in continue (from 2.30 to 5.30) and doesn’t need any reservation.

• house: 2.30pm-6pm (last entrance at 5.30)
• gardens: 2pm-6pm
