Concert at the Château – Thursday 9th June 2022
To celebrate the France-Portugal Year, the Choir Beira Interior gives a concert in the Château du Lude.
The project “The Rensaissance” aims to promote the music of this time, and the entertainments of the castles and palaces.
In the Renaissance Gallery of the Château, the 28 singers dressed in period costums will perform works of the French repertory from the 16th and 17th Century: Josquin des prés, Thoinot Arbeau, Pierre Certon, Gabrieli or Arcadelt. Those composers highlight the voices. This is the begining and development of polyphony. They are accompanied by instruments such as percusions, flute, viola da gamba and lute.
